Our client was founded a little over a year ago with the mission of seamlessly connecting the transport & logistics industry. Where we, as consumers and other businesses, are already living in a very digital and well-connected world, transport and logistics is still working in silos. Meaning that sharing information/data both within companies as well as with customers and trading partners is done via e-mail and phone calls in 80% of the cases. This not only leads to a lot of time-consuming manual work, but also that data is not organised in a meaningful way.
We are working on a web-based platform that functions as the go-to environment for data sharing, communication and therefore seamless collaboration between shippers, carriers and receivers. From large trucking companies to the small florist around the corner, we want to help people to get more insight in the transport process, to communicate quicker and to ultimately create a network that can benefit from rich, meaningful data to solve urgent challenges, such as environmental problems and the transition towards an inevitable autonomous future.
What’s our stack?
● Our platform is built primarily on Google Cloud products.
● We use Typescript in all our projects (backend/frontend).
● We code our backend in Node.js with Express.js and our frontend in Vue.js.
● We use PostgreSQL and NoSQL (Firestore) databases.
● Flutter as the mobile app.
● We’re very agile – SCRUM is our methodology.
A little about you
We involve team members in a lot of decisions and actively prepare them (if they want) for a future role in which they take responsibility for building and growing their own team.So we are looking forward to have in our team a full stack or back-end developer that is talented, enthusiastic and driven to work in a fast-growing startup environment. Preferably you start by taking most responsibility for the back-end after which we actively help you grow towards your ultimate goal and position in the company.
Next to this:
● You have strong object-oriented programming skills.
● You have experience in designing, developing and deploying backend services.
● Experience and affinity with data science, data modelling is not a requirement but a great extra as a lot of our product evolves around (big) data and machine-learning.
● You understand the value that you can add to the business, the product and the impact of your work on users.
