IT Recruitment is looking for her client NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) for a Principal Technician. Based in The Hague, Netherlands, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Integrated Mobile Service Centre, which provides NATO and its partners with scalable, protected, secure, reliable, and integrated Wireless Communication-based Services with a focus on NATO Operations, Crisis Response, Missions, Exercises and Business Continuity. The NIMSC Chief is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for centre’s following services: strategy, design, transition, operation and continuous service improvement including subject matter expertise, research and development, acquisition and logistic support.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Technician who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
- Information Security
- Systems Design
- Systems Integration and Build
- Real-time / Embedded Systems Development
- Radio Frequency Engineering
- System Installation and Removal
- Wireless Technologies
About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline (Telecommunications and Digital Communications or Electronic or Electrical Engineering) with 3 years post-related experience, or, a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in installation and maintenance of wireless communications systems, preferably for military applications, with relevant experience in the following specific areas:
- SHF Satellite Communication (SATCOM) communications and supporting systems;
- Modern radio communications techniques, protocols and standards;
- Radio communication networks operation, specification, design or testing and troubleshooting;
- Modulation, digital signal processing, coding and security techniques;
- Laboratory instrumentation and software based tools, including programming languages and software Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) methodologies.
- Good understanding of network services, cyber defence, infrastructure services and related products including their management and installations.
- Previous experience of ‘On the Job’ Training delivery.
- Significant experience of Supervisory of technical activities.
- Laboratory and field trials planning, execution and evaluation.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
